You've selected a team, you've got the job.
Now for training. Your members need to be trained up. You need to let them know the theory and basics of what ICXers do! But the best practice is being in a sales meeting or at a networking event. So hopefully you have arranged a QUALITY training day after State Conference.
It is vital you manage performance!! Oh Yeah!! You need to do this! I'll say it again! You need to measure performance!! In fact, you need to get your LCP to KEEP YOU ACCOUNTABLE TO YOUR MEMBER'S PERFORMANCE!!! Tell him/her to be a bitch abt it!!
You want to avoid you doing the majority of the work and having projects/accounts linked to you.
Suggested metrics
1) Number of sales calls
2) Number of RELEVANT networking events attended
3) Adherence to plans (according to timeline)
4) Number of advisors sought
5) Number of sales meetings
Review your team every month and keep them to their performance strictly!!

First things first - learnings from my mistakes
First things First
1) Build your team - need to know them a bit and let them know you a bit first before u can do any formal stuff with them.
Harder if you have a large team, cos need alot more time. Alternative would be to have lieutenants to manage sub teams. But you need a hands on approach, cos not pushing or watching your members will allow them to put AIESEC a much lower priority then what they signed up for. It is easy to be a vision casting leader, but 'getting it done' leadership is the kind that is needed for ICX. This is because, ICX can stretch a person, but ppl tend to want to keep within comfort zone, so ICX work gets ignored.
Dun rush this knowing each other period, can do this in conjunction with upskilling and prep, but dun be rushed by things like 'this is supposed to be your key activity period'
Recruit a mix of ppl. Ppl who will most likely stay more than 1 yr in your team (Ppl A) and people who seem to have great salesmanship (Ppl B). - Ppl A need to have potential, are proactive and looks like ICX D material. Ppl B need to be naturals at what they do, but my experience has been you need to rein in these naturals, they tend to be less accountable. Never have a team where only u are the expro!!! Transfer members if you need to. Look for ppl who are entrepreneurial, open minded, good character. In order of importance,

Have proper one on one time with your team. Lunch, dinner, or a coffee, talk abt them, make a real connection. Hang out. Also have team days, poker nights, dinners, outings etc. Get the expros to organize. Dun neglect your expros!!

First time for everything...
Hi all,
This is a blog allow myself the luxury of unloading all in my mind about ICX and i guess other AIESEC stuff. It is not a personal blog about personal stuff, I am rather uncomfortable about people reading into my personal life. But who knows, I'm not gonna be setting any boundaries on what this blog can or cannot do.
I'm gonna be writing stuff about my opinions about ICX in AIESEC, Aust and Vic; this gives me an opportunity to rant about the things going wrong and without posting it officially on .net where it may be inappropriate. So I will be mentioning people discreetly, but I do forsee offending people, well all I can say is, "get a hobby!"...Hee, nah, take it in stride i guess, but i'm nice, i wun be evil. Muahahah!!
But there'll be good things also, it will be awesome 20years down the road i read this and relfect on my @ XP.
So, there, let this be a start of a beautiful relationship with you the reader!!
Cheers, Joa
